Iran beat Thailand 3-0 (2516, 25-22, 25-19)
In a do-or-die battle, the World champions runner-up, Iran started off with an attack right from the opening whistle, with the great spike from the Iranian captain, Soleymani who produced a fast spikes to help the visitors lead 8-3. Inspired by the drum-beating from the home crowd, the Thai boys tried to hit back with fierce attack, but they still suffered on receiving and serving, leaving the Iranian to lead them all the way. The games looked very thrilling as the Thai boys came to 16-12 lead by the Iranian. At 19-13, Iran kept up the pressure and continued their superb form allowing the Thais to score a point from Wanchai Tabwises. The Iranian rally the first set 25-16.

After taking the first set, Thailand regained their composure in the second set, with Wanchai demonstrating his talent to spike. However, the Iranian came back while the Thai defense was below their par again. At 10-10 the Iranian produced an outstanding formed. The Thais still suffered from the serving but Teeradate Sukthaworn made a good attacked. Thais formed looked better than the first set and the scored locked at 17-17. A good blocked from Shotivat Tivsuwan and Kittikun Sriutthawong but the Iranian went to 22-20 lead as the Thais could not maintain their steadiness. The Iranian then won the set 25-22.

Iran took command initially to lead 8-4. While the host, Thailand fielded substitutions including Arnon Paungampai. But the Iranian went on to widen the gap to 13-8. Wanchais yesterday could not produce his good formed like the games with China. However, the Iranian went on to lift the 25-19 victory in the third set.
