Italy maintain dominance over Tunisia
Macau, China, July 24, 2005 - The energetic Italians beat Tunisia in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-12) in Pool D on the second day of the Girls' U18 World Championship on Sunday.
The Italians were far too strong for the Tunisians, they played like they were determined to win it again and leaped out to a 25-15 lead in the first set in 18 minutes.
Entering to the second set, Italy could keep their spirit to take the lead 12-8, and took their second technical time-out at 16-10, thanks to some venomous spikes contributed by Italy's Viola Cecioni. Italy continued to control the set till 25-16.
The North Africans were scrapping for every points but could not handle the Italians fast attack and defense. The teamwork and tactics of Italy were quite good along the set and eventually won the last set for victory 25-12.
