USA overpower Chinese Taipei in straight sets
Macau, China, July 24, 2005 - USA beat Chinese Taipei 3-0 (25-15, 32-30, 25-17) in Pool D on the second day of the Girls' U18 World Championship on Sunday. It was a very nervy opening by Chinese Taipei, and the Americans quickly settled into their attacking rhythm.
Despite it was an ominous form for Chinese Taipei and spent their first set playing catch-up, their physical strength came back to level 10-10.
The second set was an impressive match from start to finish, and neither team deserved to lose. In an average of 1.80 metre-frame, the Americans were easily to beat the Chinese with their inborn nature and close out the set 32-30.
From 8-8, USA jumped to 24-17 behind the serving of Alexandra Klineman, and finished with a game-high 8 points all spikes for the Americans, held on 25-17.
