The first set was close as both teams played well, tying the count for the last time at 16-all before Brazil scored three straight points capped by a block against Korea's Ku Min-Jung. With Coimbra and Virna Dias scoring on attacks, the Brazilians made it 21-17. The Koreans trimmed the gap at 21-22 but Brazil put up a strong defense to prevail.

In the second set, Erika Coimbra and Elisangela Oliveira delivered the points that gave the Brazilians a commanding 12-5 lead en route to victory.

The Koreans fought gallantly in the third set, forging a 4-all deadlock, before the Brazilians rallied to post a 15-10 lead which Korea was able to cut at 17-19 behind the efforts of Ku Min-Jung and Choi Kwang-Hee. Dias sparked a 6-2 rally capped by Leila Barros' cross-court attack to win the match.

Oliveira led Brazil with 13 points, including 12 attacks, while Coimbra and Dias contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively. Fabiana Claudio and Coimbra had two blocks each. Fernanda Venturini also did well throughout the 67-minute match.

Ku Min-Jung had 11 attacks while Jung Dae-Young had 11, 10 on attacks to lead Korea.
