The first set was close in the early going as both teams played well. The score was tied at 10-all when Ku Min-jung dished out powerful spikes while Jung Dae-Young and Kim Se-YOung defended well to give the Koreans a 20-13 lead.
Kenia Moreta and Milagros Cabral tried to rally Dominican Republic but the Koreans went to Chang So-Yun, Ku Ming-Jung and Kim Se- Young to preserve the win.
Both teams defended well in the second set but the Koreans played better and took a 21-15 lea. Dominican Republic committed errors to allow the Koreans to keep the set.
