FIVB reviews and adopts financial policy
Porto, Portugal, May 12, 2004 - The FIVB Congress in Porto reviewed and re-adopted on Wednesday its key financial policies to increase revenue through:
• Granting commissions to FIVB members negotiating and finalising contracts that generate revenue for the FIVB
• Allocating prize money for teams and players in order to attract sponsors to Volleyball events
• Developing major events like the World League, World Grand Prix, Swatch-FIVB World Tour, Grand Champions Cup etc

Commenting on this policy the FIVB President Dr. Rubén Acosta confirmed that prize money for the World League, which was $1 million when launched in 1990, will have $13 million prize money this year.

The Swatch-FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour will have over $5 million prize money.
