"I think we started from the beginning with bad serves, and as a result on the other side of the net Russia started attacking very hard” Serbia captain Sinisa Zarkovic said. “They did a lot of blocks but it doesn’t matter that they are so tall, because we are too. They played better than us, and that’s all. Now we finished the preliminary round, so we have to wait for Russia and Congo, the last match will tell us which position we will reach.”

“We worked a lot on our mindset because in this kind of competition, you have to be strong not only physically but mentally” Russia coach Andrei Kukushkin said. “The players concentrated and they played well. I hope their mindset will be as strong for the next matches as well. We had a good performance, our blocks were good, but it didn’t depends on the height of the players because Serbia are very tall too, it just happened that we did it better. The team is very close, and this is important, there is no a leader because they are all equal while they are playing.”
