Cuba played a spectacular match against Serbia and had every reason to celebrate
Singapore, Singapore, August 23, 2010 - The last Boys' Youth Olympic Games semifinal between Cuba and Serbia on Tuesday was an explosive and tight match in front of thousands of people at Payoh Sports. Cuba won with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22) victory over the FIVB Boys' Youth World Champions in a great match.
The first set was ruled by balance from the beginning to the end, only with the last five points did Cuba take the advantage and overpower Serbia. The best players of the two sides, Wilfredo Leon for Cuba and Filip Stoliciv for Serbia, showed all their skills in attack and block fighting in the air thanks to their spectacular jumps.

The second set reached the first technical time out with the same score as the previous one, but with Cuba leading 8-7. Blocks were the stars of this set, Leon for Cuba and Boris Martinovic for Serbia scored a lot of amazing points, and the public was thrilled with the show. At 16-13 to Cuba, during a defence one of the two setters of Serbia, Aleksa Brdjovic, was injured and that took the team out of balance for some minutes.

In the last set the two sides were close up until 11-9, as the Caribbean's block was the improved, helping them see out the set.

The final on Thursday will be “de ja vu” for Argentina and Cuba who already played each other on Monday where Cuba picked up the 3-0 win.
