Italy splits matches with Brazil
Lausanne, Switzerland, June 1, 2003 - Eight time World League champions Italy gained revenge for Friday's 3-1 loss to Brazil by beating the World Champions 3-2 in their second Pool B match on Sunday to wrap up Week 3 of the FIVB $15 Million World League Intercontinental Rounds.
In the feature clash of the weekend Italy and Brazil were destined to put on a mouth-watering encounter and Sunday's game fitted the bill. Hosts Italy, led by inspirational captain Andrea Giani, came from two sets down to take the next three in a five-set thriller (23-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 16-14) in one hour and 48 minutes. More
