Match Descriptive

Italy beat Brazil 3-2 (23-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 16-14) - duration 1:48
01-Jun, start time: 15:30 - Attendance: 6,205
Italy takes revenge over Brazil
Brazil easily led the first two sets thanks to an Italian defense, which struggled to contain the likes of Nalbert and his team mates' strong serves, which dished up five aces for Brazil in the second set. Then the young but talented Cristian Savani entered for Zlatanov and changed Italy's balance. Savani and captain Giani were then able to make the difference: Italy started the third set leading 8-1 over the World Champions and closed it 25-21.
The fourth set was incredibly exciting for the 6,000-strong crowd with Brazil ahead for the best part of it, but with Italy deserving the set very much. The tie break, after an initial advantage to the World Champions, was in "Azzurri"'s hands all set long, Brazil made a last ditch effort but at the end the serve of the young Savani handed Italy a brilliant victory at home.
Italian captain and their most esperienced player on court Giani, led his team with a massive 24 point haul and four winning blocks. Anderson was the best of the Brazilians with 18 points, followed by Giba with 16 points.
