When both teams were locked at 18-all, a kill by Yang Hao put China in front for the first time in the set.  China never trailed thereafter and took the hard-fought set 25-23.

Once again, it was Cuba emerged as the early leader (4-0), but China came good after the shaky opening to level it at 10-all.  The hosts never looked dangerous from then on and won the set 25-19.
