Russian coach Caprara ready for Brazil

Russia

Head coach Giovanni Caprara: We started a little bit nervously today and made a few more errors than usual. But my team played hard and after a while we relaxed and the team started to play better. In the third set, we took some points with very good blocking and that helped us win the game.
(Re. Lioubov Shashkova injury): We don't know the extent of her injury yet, but it concerns her upper leg muscle.
(Re. Brazil game): We don't have to do anything special because it's a match for first place in the pool. Obviously we'll be playing to win. If Shashkova's injury is serious in any way, then we won't play her.

No. 11 Ekaterina Gamova: Today, our defense was good and our blocking was good. We made a few mistakes, but we can fix those and be ready for the next game.
(To win the title): I know our team is really good, so I don't think there's anything major that needs to be fixed.

United States

Captain Robyn Ah Mow-Santos: Russia came out and did what we thought they would. They served tough, we had a hard time passing and our defense just couldn't dig the ball today.

Head coach Lang Ping: We knew Russia was very strong. They serve very well, and hit high and down over your hands and they have pretty good blocking, so they're very hard to beat. You have to play them very quick with lots of combinations to deal with their blocks. But I'm still happy with our team. We are just learning how to read the hitters and improve our tactics.
