"Our win today was as big as it was against Italy and Cuba."

Serbia and Montenegro's libero Suzana Cebic celebrates

Serbia and Montenegro coach Zoran Terzic said: "Peru is not an outsider. It is team of great strength and tradition, so our win today was as big as it was against Italy and Cuba."

Serbia and Montenegero captain Vesna Citakovic said: "We didn't make a good start because we didn't know how to deal with their combination attacks. But we developed over the rest of the game and found our form."

Peru coach Carlos Aparicio said: "Today we played a better game than before. But their service was strong and we were both physically and mentally inferior to them, especially in the final set. It's regrettable to repeat unforced errors of service."

Peru captain Leyla Chichuan said: "In spite of our loss, I'm satisfied we played a good game. No player was to blame for the loss."
