Press Conference

We did a good job, says Costa Rica captain

Costa Rica celebrate their World Championship debut

Kim Myeong-Soo (Korea head coach): It was our first match on such a big stage and we tried to use as many players as possible so that they could get used to the atmosphere. Fortunately we could get a good result.

Kim Sa-Nee (Korea captain): It was our first match in the World Championships and every player seemed nervous, including me. I hope we will get better and better with each match. It was more difficult than we expected.

Bae Yoo-Na (Korea): It was our first match and therefore we had some short-comings and also some good points.

Braulio Godinez (Costa Rica head coach): It was a great honour to fight against such a great team like Korea and I think we played our best. Some players did better than my expectations, but the key players were not at their best. We want to put the lessons from today’s match into use for tomorrow’s match against Japan.

Verania Willis (Costa Rica captain): We had no opportunity to play a big team like Korea before, and they put in a lot of points with fast plays. They have great players, but we came out and did what we wanted to do and tried to play to the best of our ability. I think we did a good job.
