The Cuban Women's Junior Team will be making its tenth appearance at the World Junior Championship this year, and is banking on its
skill, technical ability, and desire to put in a good performance at the
tournament.
The team is confident the Mexican public will enjoy
Cuba's modern and attack-minded style of playing, which has already produced a
number of good results at international competitions leading up the World
Championship.
Joel Olazabal Herrera has coached the Cuban Women's
Junior National Team for four years.
The team achieved its goal of qualifying for the World
Championship in Mexico from the NORCECA bracket. The team has participated in
several international competitions in Venezuela, Peru, Mexico and elsewhere in
preparation for the tournament.
