Survey reveals strong team interest in participating in CEV European League

A survey has revealed that as many as 47 national teams representing 28 National Federations have expressed their interest in participating in the next edition of the CEV European League.

The figures are impressive, especially given the general climate of uncertainty brought by the global health crisis. European Volleyball is working hard to make sure that Volleyball activities continue to flourish even in times of coronavirus.

The CEV will now liaise with all National Federations to define the competition format of next year’s European League. With the 2020 edition cancelled following the outbreak of the pandemic, many teams are looking forward to returning to the court to contest a competition that has proven instrumental to their growth and development – and will help with their preparation for the major Volleyball highlight of the year 2021, the CEV EuroVolley.

The European League – which includes the top-tier Golden League and the Silver League for lower-ranked national teams – will provide players with an opportunity to play against good opponents and also to vie for a spot to compete at the 2021 edition of the FIVB Challenger Cup, whose eventual winners will get the right to contest the elite Volleyball Nations League.

Further information on the 2021 edition of the European League will follow in due course.
