Kindl and Seiser complete golden run in Vaduz

Moritz Fabian Kindl and Mathias Seiser celebrate gold in sands of Vaduz
Vaduz, Liechtenstein, August 11, 2019 – Austrian pair Moritz Fabian Kindl and Mathias Seiser completed their golden run in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Vaduz 1-star with a three-set win against Russia’s Daniil Kuvichka and Anton Kislytsyn in the title match on Sunday.

Kindl and Seiser prevailed against the Russians as they rallied from a set down and finish in style with a 2-1 (17-21, 21-19, 16-14) victory for the gold medal. They earlier outclassed their compatriots Florian Ertl and Johanes Kratz 2-0 (21-18, 21-18) in the 34-minute semifinal match.

The Austrians were ranked 12th at the start of the main draw but climbed their way up with an unbeaten run and dropping only two sets in the competition.

Ertl and Kratz conceded to the Netherlands’ Ruben Penninga and Jasper Bouter 2-0 (21-18, 21-15) in the bronze medal match. The bronze medal winning pair dropped their semifinal encounter with Kuvichka and Kislytsyn 2-0 (21-19, 21-19).
