Fans out in force to greet Trentino’s return

Trentino Volley celebrate on the podium in Czestochowa
Lausanne, Switzerland, December 4, 2018 – Trentino Volley were given a hero’s welcome on Monday evening after they returned home just over 24 hours after being crowned as Poland 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship gold medallists.

Angelo Lorenzetti’s team beat fellow Italian side Cucine Lube Civitanova 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18) in the Hala Sportowa in Czestochowa to claim their fifth Club World Championship title.

The team returned to their home venue following 10 days away, and there were 150 fans to greet them at the BLM Group Arena. They saved their loudest applause for captain Simone Giannelli, who showed off the Club World Championship trophy that he had held aloft on Sunday.
Fans will now be able to enjoy a glimpse of the trophy at Trentino’s headquarters in the centre of town.

Lorenzetti’s players will have a day and a half off before they begin their preparations for their next match, against Lausanne UC in the CEV Champions League on Thursday.
