Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, November 2, 2018 – The NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Centre in the Dominican Republic conducted a successful five-day FIVB Level I Coaches Course from October 29 to November 2.

Eighteen coaches from Curacao, Bahamas, St. Lucia, the United States, Belize, Aruba and U.S. Virgin Islands received theoretical and practical lessons from FIVB instructors Francisco Cruz of Cuba and Juan Cartagena of Puerto Rico.

FIVB Executive Vice President and NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz presented the certificates to the participants during the closing ceremony at the main classroom of the Development Centre.

Marte Hoffiz thanked instructors Cruz and Cartagena for their dedication to teaching the game. He also expressed his satisfaction with the participation of the new coaches and urged them to continue working for the development of volleyball.

“You are one of the pillars of the game as you are the ones who teach the young players that playing the sport properly is more important than winning,” Marte Hoffiz said.
