Netherlands coach Morrison proud of his team after rout of Serbia

Nagoya, Japan, October 11, 2018 - Lonneke Sloetjes scored a match-high 22 points as the Netherlands routed Serbia 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-20) in the second round at the FIVB Women's World Championship on Thursday night and the coach of the winning team said he was proud of his players.

Netherlands coach Jamie Morrison: This was a tough match. Serbia is a good team. I'm proud of the way my team played. We had a lot of pressure coming into this match. We look forward to the challenge of the final six and possibly seeing Serbia again.

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic: The Netherlands played really well. It's not a problem to lose the last two games, but it is in this manner. Practically we didn't play. I think the players will change their minds and play better in the final six.

Netherlands captain Maret Balkestein-Grothues: We did a good job today with service, block and defense. Now we will focus on the final six.

Netherlands players Lonneke Sloetjes: We are happy to win, but know Serbia can play much better. It was important for us today to win one set. After that we relaxed and got into a rhythm. We played a solid game. We are happy to be in the last six and may see Serbia against in the last round.

Serbia captain Maja Ognjenovic: We were missing the energy we had at the beginning of the tournament. We hope to get it back for the last six. We should be satisfied after seven wins in a row, so losing the last two is not that bad. We will now get ready for the last six.
