Watch: How national team players prepare to do battle

What is common to all players before a big match?
Lausanne, Switzerland, January 17, 2019 – What do the players do before a match? Are they relaxed? Nervous? Excited? The FIVB takes a quick peak into national team dressing rooms to see how the players gear themselves up ahead of a big match.

For some, it’s about concentration and focus; for others, music provides the answer. Some players want to be alone, while others interact with their teammates and even have a laugh, nervous or otherwise.

Emotions range from excitement to anticipation to nervousness.

But what you will feel from this video is the common element of intensity as the players prepare to do battle and think about ways of winning.

Listen to what some of the world's top players have to say, including Wallace De Souza (Brazil), Luca Vettori (Italy), Bruno Rezende (Brazil), Benjamin Toniutti (France), Micah Christenson and Matt Anderson (USA).
