Coaches charged with the responsibilities of crafting their respective teams’ advancement to the next phase all expressed their optimism ahead of the event.

Antigua and Barbuda’s coach Carl Williams said: “We are here to compete, we are here to win and that is our priority. We have had some challenges with training, but when we did train it was very intensive and once we execute well we will be in it.”

Expressing similar sentiments was Dominica’s coach - Jeffrey Edmond. “We are here with one plan and that is to come out first. We will accept nothing else but that as we have been training for this for a while. I am confident that with this team we can reach the final and win.”

Likewise St Kitts and Nevis’ Jason Liburd, who is doubling up as coach/player, said: “When you look at the grouping, it is a very good competition. But we feel it is a great chance for us to advance. We know all these teams, we have played them before and I think it is our time to take charge of this tournament and move on.

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ coach Brian Burke added: “We expect to give a good account of ourselves. We are going to compete as we have been here before, so are expecting to do well. We are here with a mission to make it to the next round. Our goal is to go all the way.”

The first match of the day pits Antigua and Barbuda versus Dominica, then St Vincent and the Grenadines plays St Kitts and Nevis.
