Fidon, Dascalu help France sustain unbeaten run

France captain Juliette Fidon scored 22 points to lead her squad to move to the Group 3 Final Four with an unbeaten record
Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, July 16, 2017 – France will advance to the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Group 3 Final Four with a sweep of their matches in the preliminary round after they completed a 3-2 (17-25, 25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 15-12) win over Australia in Pool D3 at National Cycling Center on Sunday.

Juliette Fidon helped France with 22 points in the tough five-setter against Australia. Alexandra Dascalu added 18 points, including four aces, to sustain their unbeaten run. Australians Rachel Rourke and Eliza Hynes also had a productive night in scoring with 22 and 19 points, respectively.

France achieved a historic feat as the first team to win their first six matches since their debut. Australia, which will host the Group 3 Final Four in Canberra from July 22 to 23, finished with only one win in six matches.
