Good day amidst gloomy weather forecast for Sydney's Volleyfest
Sydney, Australia, March 17, 2017 - The next stop of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour served up high levels of anticipation as competition started on Friday in Sydney’s Manly Beach.

Olympic gold medallist Kerri Pottharst was no stranger to Sydney's Volleyfest fever.

Weather was forecast as the toughest competitor,

And everyone needed to be fighting form.

Australia’s Phoebe Bell looks poised and ready for the weekend’s play.

Fellow Australians Mariafe Artacho/Jessyka Ngauamo enjoyed opening day victory (21-12, 22-20) against New Zealand’s Danielle Quigley/Micah Brown.

Scotland celebrated a historic day as Lynn Beattie/Melissa Coutts defeated Australia’s Sarah Battaglene/Stefanie Weller, 2-1 (20-22, 21-16, 15-9).

Volleyball Australia streamed Friday’s matches,
