Former PGE Skra Belchatów player Miguel Falasca has been working with the club as a coach
Prague, Czech Republic, February 11, 2016 - The Czech Volleyball Federation has appointed Spaniard Miguel Angel Falasca to coach the country's men's volleyball team. The 42-year-old joins the Czech team after three years with the coaching staff of Polish club PGE Skra Belchatów. The former European champion (2007) has signed a two-year contract with the Czech national team.

Falasca's coaching career is linked with Polish club PGE Skra Belchat
ów, with which he won the Polish league, Polish Cup, Polish Super Cup and last season advanced to the Final Four of the CEV Volleyball Champions League.

"I am pleased that after long negotiations we managed to bring to the Czech national team coach that quality. I have met Miguel during my active career in Poland. He is precise, hardworking and a globally recognized expert," said Jakub Novotny, manager of the Czech national teams.

"We continue with a trend in which we bring to the Czech volleyball environment impulses from international volleyball," added the President of the Czech Volleyball Federation Zdenek Hanik.

One of Falasca's main tasks and objectives will be to focus on the upcoming European Championships, which will be held in Poland in 2017.  "It is a great honour and also a challenge to accept the offer from the Czech men´s team.
