Peykan win the Junior Premier League of Iran

Peykan won the Final Round with five straight victories
 Tehran, Iran, February 10, 2016 – The Junior Premier League of Iran ended its season on Tuesday with the title going to the Peykan club.
The junior league competition for young players was made up of a Preliminary and Final Round. 

In the former, 11 teams competed against each other over five days from January 15 in the cities of Gonbad and Ardakan. There were two groups – one with five teams and the other with six – and the competition used a round-robin system. 

The top three teams From Group 1 (respectively, Saipa, Sarmayeh Bank, and Khorasan Samen Al-Hojaj) were joined in the Final Round by the top three from the second group (Peykan, Varamin Matin and Urmia Shahrdari).

From February 4, the six teams played each other in Urmia in another round-robin contest.

Peykan took the title with 13 points from five consecutive wins. Saipa and Matin finished second and third, respectively.

Peykan is one of the most notable clubs in Iran. The senior team have won 12 Premier League titles as well as a bronze medal in the World Championship.
