World Tour Countdown -3: Brazilian women dominate the sand

Lausanne, Switzerland, February 12, 2016 - There are three days to wait until the start of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Kish Island Open. Three is also the number of Brazilian women’s teams that won gold on the 2015 World Tour.

Brazilian women showed strength in numbers as they dominated the 2015 season, with Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes leading the pack as they bagged the titles of the Moscow Grand Slam, Swatch FIVB Porec Major, Swatch FIVB Gstaad Major, Long Beach Grand Slam, Olsztyn Grand Slam, Rio de Janeiro Open and Swatch FIVB World Tour Finals.

Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas reigned in the Prague Open, St. Petersburg Grand Slam and the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship The Netherlands 2015, while Juliana Silva and Maria Antonelli conquered the Swatch FIVB Stavanger Major.

The Brazilian women’s pairs are expected to come up with strong performances against each other again in 2016, similar to the superb rallies between Fernanda Alves/Taiana Lima and Agatha/Barbara at the World Championships last year.
