Haiti claim CAZOVA junior title in Barbados

The victorious team celebrate their title
Bridgetown, Barbados, December 13, 2015 - Haiti silenced the home crowd to capture their first CAZOVA junior title as the 10th edition of the competition climaxed in Bridgetown.

It was a case of history repeating itself as Barbados were defeated by Haiti 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-19). Barbados suffered a similar loss to Trinidad & Tobago in the inaugural tournament back in 1997, which was held at the same venue.

Barbados had no answer for the power of Solaida Pierre, who scored 15 points, and Jackie Graziella Cherry, who added 12. Only super-jumper Shonte Seale with nine points and Aliyyah Durant with seven offered some resistance for the Bajans.

Barbados also lost to Haiti (3-1) in the preliminaries and the new champions finished unbeaten in the tournament.
