Rotterdam, Netherlands, July 2, 2015 - Glenn Grootenboer bought a ticket on Wednesday for the evening matches of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015 in Rotterdam. A few hours later, the 100,000th visitor to the competition and his son left the stadium covered in gifts.

“Truly amazing, I have come a few times already this week because it is so awesome, but I did not expect this to happen of course,” said the citizen of Rotterdam. Grootenboer received two tickets from airline Transavia to a destination of his choice, together with an ss Rotterdam hotel voucher for two persons.

The fact that already 100,000 people have visited the tournament is an important milestone for Tournament Director Bas van de Goor. “It exceeds our most childish dreams,
” he said.

Today and tomorrow, the quarterfinals will be played in the four host cities. They will be followed by the semifinals and finals from Friday July 3-5, which take place in the city of The Hague.
Bas van de Goor: “I expect to be sold out for the final weekend. The ticket sales are going fast. But you can still buy tickets, if not online, then still at the door.
