Zurich, Switzerland, May 8, 2015 - Early responses to the FIVB Referee Online Course launched as part of the International Volleyball Federation’s new e-learning strategy have been extremely positive, with Serbian international referee Vladimir Simonovic saying the platform provides an excellent opportunity to learn.

Speaking at the 2015 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship in Zurich, Simonovic said: “The platform provides an excellent opportunity to learn. All the documents are in one and the same place, which is very helpful. The tool is easy to use and provides a nice overview of learning materials, and the questions in the test are at the right level.”

Argentine international referee Karina Rene said: “It is possible to download files, which means you can also study offline. The documents provided are well presented and easy to understand.”

These sentiments were echoed by Spanish international referee Susana Maria Rodriguez Jativa, who said: “The tool is very helpful for the preparation of a tournament and all the information is up to date.”

The FIVB's online course for referees is the first in a series of modules which will form part of the organisation’s new e-learning strategy. The course for referees, line judges, scorers and referee delegates contains information on the Rules of the Game, the Casebook and the Refereeing Guidelines and Instructions. It also offers a wide range of questionnaires and quizzes to test the knowledge of candidates.
