Development Centre in Thailand hosts AVC refereeing courses

Bangkok, Thailand, May 4, 2015 - Thailand Volleyball Association President Mr Somporn Chaibangyang opened an AVC Referees and Pre-International Referee Candidates Course at the FIVB Development Center in Bangkok on Monday.

The main objectives of the course, which will be held from May 4-8, are to help national referees become AVC Referees and prepare for an International Referee Candidate Course in the near future.

The participants in the five-day course, which will be conducted by Course Instructor and Chairman of the AVC Referees Committee Mr Songsak Charoenpong, are referees from ten federations in the Eastern and South Eastern Zones in Asia, consisting of China, Hong Kong, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand.

The course's opening ceremony was also attended by Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, Vice-President and Secretary General of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, Mr Chai Nimakorn, Director of the FIVB Development Center in Bangkok, and Dr. Ruengsak Siriphol, General Manager of the AVC Headquarters.
