Guinea Bissau teachers take first steps

Guinea Bissau has high hopes of spreading the popularity of volleyball
Bissau, Guinea Bissau, April 30, 2015 – Teachers in Guinea Bissau took their first steps in helping spread the popularity of volleyball and beach volleyball in the West African country by partaking in a coaching course for teachers.

FIVB instructor Dr. Antonio Guerra from Portugal led the course that featured 24 men and one woman.

The Guinea Bissau Volleyball Federation is working hard with the Guinea Bissau Olympic Committee to find ways to spread and develop sport around a young population that it believes is well-placed to take up the opportunities that sport presents.

The main aim for the GB Volleyball Federation is new headquarters, an adequate indoor facility for both national and club teams and a place to play beach volleyball in Bissau, the capital city. At the moment the nearest court is 60km away.
