Argentine Boys' Youth team work towards continental championship

Argentina's Boys' Youth team are preparing for the South American Championship in Colombia next October
Tucuman, Argentina, April 28, 2015 - The Argentine Boys' Youth team gathered in Tucuman for a training camp, before claiming victory at the second edition of the Alfredo Cozzitorti Cup.

The team coached by Damián Arredondo arrived in Tucuman on Monday and trained all week, playing friendlies in Montero. They then participated in the Alfredo Cozzitorti Cup from April 24-26, which is a U17 competition organized by Club Tucuman de Gimnasia, with the participation of teams from Argentina and Chile.

Argentina won the final match against Banco Hispano de San Juan 2-0 (25-23, 25-21). Speaking to La Gaceta newspaper after the match, coach Arredondo said: "The team's concentration was better than during last year's event, because we were able to combine our training with competitive matches."

The youth team includes players born in 1999 and 2000, who will face a big challenge at the South American Championship that will take place next October in Colombia, when they will attempt to defend the title won in Bariloche, Argentina last year.
