Sparks set to fly as Fuzhou kicks off 2015 World Tour

Lausanne, Switzerland, April 13, 2015 - Fans can expect a feast of volleyball and beach volleyball in 2015 as the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour kicks off in Fuzhou, China next week. The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015 will take place from June 26 through to July 5, before the FIVB Volleyball World Cup takes centre stage in Japan in August and September.

Stay with us as we build up to this year's main events. The World Tour gets underway later this month in China and will feature FIVB World Tour Grand Slam events in Moscow, Russia, St. Petersburg, USA, Yokohama, Japan, Long Beach, USA and Olsztyn, Poland. These will take place alongside four FIVB Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series events, a World Tour Finals event in Fort Lauderdale, USA, and nine Open events.

The international volleyball season will begin in earnest when the FIVB Volleyball World League starts on May 16. The premier annual competition for men's national teams will run through to July and will overlap with the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix, which will see the best women's teams in the world compete for honours. The 2015 edition of the FIVB Volleyball World Cup will take place in Japan, with the women's event taking place from August 22 to September 6, followed by the men's event from September 8-23.

Six under age volleyball events will also take place in 2015. The first of these competitions will take place in Limassol and Kato Polemidia, Cyprus, which will play hosts to the FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship. That event will be followed by the Girls' U18 World Championship in Lima, Peru from August 7-16. The Women's U23s will play in Ankara, Turkey from August 12-19, while the Boys' U19s will gather in Resistencia-Corrientes, Argentina from August 14-23. The two final under age events of the year will see the Men's U23s play in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from August 24-31, and the Men's U21s play in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico from September 11-20.
