69th CSV Congress to take place in Cartagena de Indias

Cartagena, Colombia, February 1, 2015 - The premier event of the South American Confederation will take place in the city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, in the presence of FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F°.

The twelve presidents of the national federations which make up the South American Confederation will be at the meetings that will start on March 3 and culminate in the Congress meeting on the morning of March 6, 2015.

Among the many subjects to be discussed is the support to the federations involved in development programmes, as well as in technical and refereeing training projects. Other subjects on the agenda include adjustments to the CSV Statutes and Regulations, financial matters and projects already approved by the FIVB, including internet broadcasting activities.

The Congress will also examine events in South American in 2014 and the two World Championships to take place on the continent in 2015: the FIVB Volleyball
Girls' U18 World Championship in Peru and the FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship in Argentina.

CSV President Dr. Rafael Lloreda said: "Once more, we will have the participation of
FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° in our activities. We are very honoured and with pride we welcome his presence."

The president of the federation hosting the Congress, Mr Carlos Grisales said: "It is an honour for Colombia and Cartagena that the South American Confederation choses this beautiful city in our country as venue for the 69th Congress. This event for the Colombian Volleyball Federation not only makes us feel very proud, as it is the premier CSV annual meeting, but also because President Graça will be part of it".
