Moscow, Russia, December 5, 2014 - FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° this morning met with the Russian Federation’s Minister of Sport, Vitaly Mutko, and President of the Russian Volleyball Federation, Stanislav Shevchenko, to discuss the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in 2022.

During a successful meeting in Moscow, Vitaly Mutko confirmed Russia’s intention to host the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in 2022.

President Graça later met with a number of high-profile Russian journalists to answer questions about the Championships, which broke attendance records this year when they were hosted by Poland. In addition, innovations to be introduced in the coming year, including the revolutionary LED net, were discussed – along with the President’s vision for the future of volleyball in the lead up to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

The requirements and budget for the 2022 Championships are now due to be evaluated.
