New President for Finnish Volleyball Association

New Finnish Volleyball Association President Mr Pasi Sydänlammi
Helsinki, Finland, November 30, 2014 - Mr Pasi Sydänlammi, 40, is the new President of the Finnish Volleyball Association. On Sunday, the delegates in attendance at the General Assembly of the Association were unanimous in their decision. Mr Hannu Takkula, 51, was elected Vice-President of the country’s governing body.

Sydänlammi is the managing director of the Oma Säästöpankki bank and is also a former volleyball player. He played a total of 85 matches with Isku Tampere in the Finnish first division.

Takkula, on the other hand, is a prominent politician, a member of the European Parliament from 2004 through 2014 and before that a member of the Finnish Parliament from 1995 to 2004.
Mr Tero Auvinen, 42, is the new General Secretary of the Finnish Volleyball Association. Auvinen took office on November 29, following Mrs Hanna Iiskola-Kesonen' resignation.
