I suffered a lot during the last few days because I fractured a finger and all advised me not to play. But I wanted to fulfil this dream in front of our people in an outstanding competition and to keep our dream of qualifying for the beach volleyball tournament at the Olympic Games Rio 2016 alive."

Ana Gallay added: "We fulfil our first goal of overcoming Uruguay and Paraguay. It was hard, even more because being at home we wanted to dedicate the victory to our fans. We want to thank the support of all, the Argentine Volleyball Federation, ENARD [The Argentine National Board of High Performance Sports], our sponsors and the people of “Beach Volley Around the World", who organised a unique and unforgettable event”.
