Beach Volley Around the World visits Argentina

The Beach Volley Around the World competition will gather amateur players in Miramar, Argentina
Buenos Aires, Argentina, November 14, 2014 - The city of Miramar is preparing to host the first edition of the Beach Volley Around the World (BVAW) competition to be staged in Argentina.

Amateur players will be able to enter competitions but also benefit from advice from professional players and coaches and enjoy fun events, including beach parties and a chance to try a variety of sports, including surfing and horse riding.

The Argentina Volleyball Federation (FeVA) has given its full support to the event, which will take place alongside Continental Cup matches featuring Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, who will be starting out on the road to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Sixty courts will be set up for the amateur beach volleyball competition, which will be the biggest ever South American amateur beach volleyball event organised to date, and will also feature live music, exhibition matches and a beach volleyball party.

"For FeVA, holding such an important event is a great opportunity and we feel very proud. When we saw the level of organisation put in place, we talked with the city of Miramar and realised that it was an outstanding venue for such an important event," said FeVA President Mr Gutierrez.

Miramar Tourist Board Director Mr Pagliardini added: "We want to have an international event like this every year and this BVAW together with the Continental Cup will be really amazing. We will show that Miramar is a great place with different opportunities and we will host a real tourism and sports party. We want these to be the best events hosted in our wonderful city and we invite everyone to enjoy them."
