Salparov: We were completely surprised with Egyptians

Gdańsk, Poland, September 6, 2014 - Bulgaria won after the tie-break with Egypt 3-2 (25-22, 26-24, 23-25, 20-25, 15-11). It was a long match full of twists. Nobody has expected that kind of clash.

"In this game we were completely surprised with the Egyptians," Teodor Salparov, libero of Bulgaria national team, said after the match. "There were moments when we made many serious faults, that we need to eliminate if we want to fight for the higher positions in this tournament.

"At this point the most important thing is promotion to the next round. We are trying not to calculate too much ahead. Every victory is significant for us, he assured.

"It was a tough clash. Egyptians were very determined. They played really good and used all our mistakes. We need to be more concentrated before the next encounter,"  Salparov added.
