Lausanne, Switzerland, August 31, 2014 – Each of the 62,000 plus spectators at the opening match of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2014 on Saturday in Warsaw, Poland played a special part in volleyball history.

From afar, the packed National Stadium seemed like just a sea of red, but look closer and one can see the passion and excitement on each individual making up the record number of spectators at any volleyball event since 1952.
