Castiglione and Piccolo visit U16 Metropolitan competition in Argentina

The U16 finalists pose with Yael Castiglione and Sol Piccolo
Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 20, 2014 - Members of Argentina's women's team, including Yael Castiglione and Sol Piccolo, visited the U16 Metropolitan competition in Buenos Aires - which is the Argentine Volleyball Federation's premier tournament for age-group teams.

The tournament's final saw Tortuguitas take on Velez Sarsfield, with both teams enjoying the presence of the players from the national team. There were also photo opportunities for the two teams at the Club Ciudad venue.

In San Fernando, which was the setting for the boys final B level matches, Argentina coach Guillermo Orduna joined by Metropolitan Volleyball Federation President Vicente Finelli to hand out the awards to the participating teams.

Argentina's senior women's team - Las Panteras - will return to double shift training this Thursday ahead of their participation in the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship Italy 2014.  After Argentina's performance in the World Grand Prix, which included a stop in Lomas de Zamora, coach Guillermo Orduna's team is keen to do well in Italy and build on their four wins in the World Grand Prix, three in Lomas de Zamora and one on their travels.

Their Women's World Championship will start in Italy on September 23, just two days after the end of the Men's World Championship in Poland, for which Argentina is also qualified.
