Work to begin on Exhibition Hall of Volleyball

Lausanne, Switzerland, July 4, 2014 - A new era will begin with the construction of the Exhibition Hall of Volleyball at the headquarters of the International Volleyball Federation in Lausanne, Switzerland, after FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° signed agreements with the company in charge of the building work.

The President was joined by representatives of the companies involved in the project on Friday for the contract signing ceremony. Present at the headquarters were: Mr Pierrat, Mr Glardon, Mr Lopez, Mr Rubin, Mr Lazzarotto, Mr Morandi and chief architect Mrs Dupraz.

The Exhibition Hall of Volleyball will provide visitors with a unique insight into the history of the sports of volleyball and beach volleyball. FIVB 2nd Executive Vice President André Meyer will lead the project and a groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Tuesday, July 8, to celebrate the first day of construction.

The Exhibition Hall of Volleyball, which will be built under the grounds of the FIVB headquarters in Lausanne, represents a new milestone in the International Volleyball Federation's drive to bring volleyball and beach volleyball to a wider audience. Displays using innovative and interactive technology will help to highlight memorable events in the sport's vibrant history and build new links between the past, present and future of the game.
