Dakar hosts middle players’ course
Dakar, Senegal, July 2, 2014 – A group of West African players were given the chance to hone their skills when FIVB instructor Eric Ngapeth hosted a training course in the Senegalese capital Dakar.
In total 27 players took part in the course, predominantly from the local leagues with the thrust of the course towards developing the middle players’ role. The aim is to increase the technical level of the central player and to use it as a basis for developing team play.
A number of
physical education teacher and coaches took part in the course so that they can
take the knowledge that they acquired back to their respective teams to help
raise the technical level around the country.
The FIVB Technical Seminars programme, of which the Middle Player seminar is a component, is intended for technicians (with experience as volleyball players and/or coaches) looking to improve their knowledge and competences of the different volleyball techniques.
These seminars usually feature world-renowned volleyball coaches, instructors and associate players for practical demonstrations.
