VCP Level I Coaching Course held in DPR Korea

Thirty-seven participants received FIVB certification
Lausanne, Switzerland, June 29, 2014 – A Volleyball Cooperation Programme Level I Coaching Course took place in the DPR Korea capital of Pyongyang from June 19 to 26.

The course was supervised by Chinese FIVB instructor Zhao Shanwen, who was making his third visit to the country.

The course attracted strong participation and 37 coaches – 32 men and five women – were awarded Level I certification.

The course was significant for the national federation as it was their first course in three years, but it was well-planned with a selection of coaches from different regions of DPR Korea.

Instructor Zhao expressed his satisfaction with the overall commitment of the participants and with the support of the local interpreters.

During the practical sessions, 12 coaches were selected to prepare special demonstrations to show their teaching techniques and skills obtained during the course.

The instructor and the FIVB also delivered special teaching assistance in the form of DVDs and coaching manuals.

The national federation expressed their thanks to the FIVB and they declared an interest in organizing a Level II Coaching Course next year.
