Colombia holds successful VCP Beach Volleyball Grassroots course

“The course was a great contribution to beach volleyball in South American countries,” said Hernandez.

Bogota, Colombia, June 12, 2014 - The Colombian Volleyball Federation organised a VCP Beach Volleyball Grassroots from June 4 to 8, 2014 in Bogota. The programme was led by the Venezuelan instructor Mr. Mauro Hernandez.

A total of 18 men and five women coming from Venezuela and Colombia took part of the course. The instructor expressed his satisfaction with the organisation of the course and the high level of participants.

Participants benefitted from discussions and demonstrations to develop their technical level. They also analysed the performance of the male and female teams that participated in the World Tour and the NORCECA Tour in order to better understand technical fundamentals, statistical analysis, attack trends and training plans.

This Beach Volleyball Grassroots course is designed for National Federations, or simply beach volleyball enthusiasts willing to develop beach volleyball in their respective countries. The course provides an insight into the world of beach volleyball and teaches fundamental issues such as how to create and organise beach volleyball competitions. The course also covers the latest rules and regulations and informs participants on the necessary structure for beach volleyball.
