FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship trophy goes on tour in Poland

The Men's World Championship trophy will tour the venue cities of the World Championship in Poland
 Lausanne, Switzerland, June 11, 2014 – The FIVB Men's World Championship trophy will take a tour of Poland from June 12 to July 4, calling in at the host cities of the Men’s World Championship, which will take place in Poland from August 30 to September 21.

Fans will have an opportunity to see the trophy at six different venues:

Katowice, June 12-13 at the Square close to Spodek;
Wroclaw, June 14-15 at the Market Square;
Krakow, June 18-20 at Krakow Arena Square;
Bydgoszcz, June 21-22 at the Old Market Town Square;
Lodz, June 23-24 at three venues: Schiller’s Avenue – Piotrkowska 122/ Rubinstein’s Alley/ Square of Magda’s Trading House
Gdansk, July 3-4 at Coal Market Square.

Poland will be hosting the World Championship for the first time, with the opening match – Poland v Serbia – taking place in the 58,000-capacity National Stadium on August 30.

Poland, who won the FIVB World League two years ago, will be hoping to emulate the success of their predecessors in 1974, the only time Poland have won the World Championship.
