Beach Volleyball U23 World Championships to benefit from FIVB outreach programme

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 10, 2014 - The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) in collaboration with the the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Polish Commission against Doping in Sport will conduct an anti-doping outreach programme at the FIVB Beach Volleyball U23 World Championships that will take place in Myslowice, Poland from June 10 to 15.

The programme will be held on June 12 and 13 and will be open to beach volleyball
players, members of their medical and technical staff, team managers and coaches. Participants will have the opportunity to use the WADA e-learning tool and over the two days Medical Delegate, Dr. Hossam Baghat and representatives from the Polish National Anti-Doping Agency will be on hand to answer questions.

The project provides an opportunity for medical delegates from the Federation and the FIVB to meet players and their entourage face-to-face.

The pilot programme was launched at the FIVB Boys’ Under 19 World Championship that took place in Tijuana (Mexico) in 2013.
