Bari prepares for Italy’s World League match against Poland

Italy's staff and players were in high demand with media and fans on their arrival in Bari
Bari, Italy, June 5, 2014 – Italy’s 100% record in the 2014 FIVB Volleyball World League was reflected when they touched down at Bari airport for their clash in the city with Poland on Friday, June 6 with fans packing the arrivals lounge to greet them and grab an autograph or photo from their heroes.

The Azzurri host 2012 World League winners Poland at the Pala Florio in Bari having twice won on the road against 2013 silver medallists Brazil and then twice at home against Iran. It means Mauro Berruto’s team sits atop Pool A with 12 points after their four victories.

The Pala Florio is expected to be sold out to its 5,000 capacity as two teams who expect to finish on the podium go head-to-head.

Following the match in Bari the action moves to Rome, where the two sides will meet at the Foro Italico on Sunday for the FIVB World League match of the week; then a week later Italy travel to Poland where they will take on Stephane Antiga’s team in Katowice and Lodz.
