Tuvalu Federation organizes VCP Coaches Level I course

Eleven men and six women attended the Level I Coaches Course in Tuvalu
Lausanne, Switzerland, June 2, 2014 – The Tuvalu Volleyball Federation organized a VCP Coaches Level I course from May 21 to 28 under the direction of FIVB Instructor Dan Ilie Girleanu from Romania.

A total of 11 men and six women took part in the programme. The course had two sessions per day, which included both practical and theoretical lessons. Instructor Girleanu said the course was a great success and complimented the national federation for their support.

Tuvalu’s remote location means it has limited international experience and international contacts, but is seen as a developing volleyball nation and federation in an area – Oceania – that already has a solid base in volleyball and beach volleyball.

Instructor Girleanu suggested sending candidates to attend other international courses to gain more knowledge on the sport. He also recommended starting a Mini-Volley/ Youth Competition to expand the sport’s base in the country.
